Survey results demonstrate value of hospital edition

Infection Control Nurses have strongly endorsed the contribution of the Standard Precautions in the Irish healthcare setting (Hospital, Ireland) as a tool for training all staff in best practice on standard precautions for infection prevention and control. A typical response was: “The DVD was used at all levels, within all areas of the hospital for orientation and updates in Infection Control. It saves a lot of education time. [It is] most valuable.”
Users were even more positive now that they have been able to integrate it into their day-to-day work.
The survey looked for responses to nine statements and was based on a five-point scale ranging from Strongly Disagree (1.0) to Strongly Agree (5.0).

Just as encouraging as the scores, were the free form comments which show us that the DVD is fast becoming the tool of choice for training staff in the prevention and control of healthcare associated infection.
Although the survey identified the strength of the product on all dimensions, it has helped us to identify those areas where there are some opportunities for improvement.
The overall results have given us great encouragement to move forward with new products. We take the results as an endorsement of the excellent work by everyone involved in developing the product. It is also an endorsement of the expertise and cooperation of the many experts – infection control nurses, microbiologists and hospital staff – who worked with us at all stages in the development of the Hospital Edition DVD.
The most valued feedback we received came from one user who said,
“I have recommended this DVD to all my sister hospitals”.
